Holocaust Album | Why We Care

"Comfort, yes, comfort My people!" Says your God. "Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, That her warfare is ended, That her iniquity is pardoned; For she has received from the Lord's hand Double for all her sins." Isaiah 40:1-2

Why should we, who were fortunate enough not to perish in Hitler's ovens, or lose our entire family tree to the inhuman barbarity that gripped Europe, care about the Holocaust?

Perhaps Martin Niemöller expressed it best:

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
Niemöller (1892-1984) was a prominent Protestant pastor who emerged as an outspoken public foe of Adolf Hitler and spent the last seven years of Nazi rule in concentration camps.

Anti-Semitism is once again on the rise. It has a politically-correct form that is permeating the Church through dangerous lies and deception. Anti-Israelism borne of Pro-Palestinian provocation is fomenting hatred and fervor against the Jews. Based on false theology such as Palestinian Liberation Theology, fraudulent claims of Jewish oppression, imperialism, and occupation, attended with rousing epithets such as "Israel Apartheid!" this current wave of anti-Semitism is spreading rapidly, and is frighteningly reminiscent of the 1930s.

At the same time, Holocaust Denial is at an all-time high. We must never forget!

Liberated the Nazi Concentration Camps of Europe
The barbarism that gripped Europe just a short time ago seems inconceivable.
Most grievous is that it was done in a "Christian" land
in the name of "Jesus" to His own brethren...
This has been the sad legacy for near two millennia.
Yet, out of the unspeakable horror, Adonai spoke Life
to the valleys of bones (Ezekiel 37),
"Am Yisrael Chai!" The People of Israel Live!
And Israel was born from these hopeless ashes.
And there are many heartening stories that came out of those nightmare years...
In the darkness, the righteous remnant will shine...
